Health, Education, and Human Services Recovery

Disasters can have lasting effects that extend well beyond the immediate response, disrupting access to health care, education, behavioral health, human services, and public health programs that communities depend on every day. 

Through the Health, Education, and Human Services (HEHS) Recovery Support Function (RSF) under the National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), ASPR coordinates with federal, state, tribal, territorial, local, and community partners to support the restoration of these essential services, address emerging recovery needs, and strengthen the systems that help individuals, families, and communities recover. By bringing together expertise, resources, and cross-sector coordination, the HEHS RSF helps communities build a stronger, more resilient foundation for long-term recovery.
